| Amy Stubbs
Amy Stubbs currently performs as Principal Percussionist with the Sacramento Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Timpanist with the Napa Valley Symphony. She earned her Master of Music from Carnegie Mellon University and her Bachelor of Music from the Manhattan School of Music, having studied with Timothy Adams and Duncan Patton. In addition, she has studied with Cloyd Duff, Richard Holmes and Thomas Stubbs.
Amy has performed with the San Francisco Symphony, Syracuse Symphony, River City Brass Band, USAF Heritage of America Band, Sunflower Music Festival, Santa Rosa Symphony, Berkeley Symphony, Oakland East Bay Symphony, Women’s Philharmonic.
Ms. Stubbs has appeared as a soloist with the New Century Chamber Orchestra and the Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony. She has appeared as a guest artist with Bay Brass and the Empyrean Ensemble. Additionally, she made several recordings, and has performed with the Moody Blues, Ray Charles, Luciano Pavarotti and Dennis DeYoung.
Amy has taught at the University of California Davis, mentored for the Oakland East Bay Symphony MUSE program, and coached the Oakland Youth Orchestra in addition to maintaining a private teaching studio since 1995. She has also presented masterclasses at the Manhattan School of Music, University of Maryland, University of Southern California, University of Washington and Wichita State University.
